All reports to CSM Scotland will be acknowledged by a letter from
us. On occasions we may ask reporters for further information, and
this will be to clarify details of the reaction, or obtain further
information on the outcome of the reaction.
If you want to know more information about the particular drug
you have reported this can be obtained by ticking the box at the
bottom of the form. If you do this a report, including a print out
of the drug analysis print (DAP) will be sent to you.
Because of the way adverse drug reactions are reported in the United
Kingdom this report cannot be used as a means of assessing the number
of adverse reactions that have occurred. It will give you some information
about the relative numbers occurring in different body systems and
the frequency of other reports which have been made that are similar
to the report you submitted. The CSM distribute a guidance note
on interpretation of these reports which we will send to you. This
guidance can also be downloaded from this site.
