Director of National Poisons Information Service, Edinburgh centre (Scottish Poisons Information Bureau), Reader in Clinical Pharmacology, University of Edinburgh, and Consultant Physician within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Formerly he was Medical Director of the Regional Drug and Therapeutics Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne where he was Director of the regional reporting centre CSM Northern. He has research interests in Clinical Toxicology and Pharmacoepidemiology. He is the President-elect of the European Association of Poison Centres & Clinical Toxicologists and Chairman of its Scientific and Meetings Committee.

Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology, University of Edinburgh, and Consultant Physician at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. He is currently Vice-President (Clinical) of the British Pharmacological Society and Chairman of Lothian University Hospitals Drug & Therapeutics Committee.

His research interests are related to the pathophysiology and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Melinda is a native of Canada who graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 1994. During her career she has worked in both community and hospital pharmacy; and has also worked with the Newfoundland & Labrador Prescription Drug Program prior to leaving Canada. She maintains licensing as a pharmacist in Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Currently she is a senior pharmacist working within Medicines Information/CSM Scotland. She is currently undertaking a Mphil at the University of Strathclyde, and her topic is based on oncology adverse drug reactions.

Sheena Kerr is Principal Pharmacist for Medicines Information in Lothian University Hospitals Trust. She has worked within Lothian since 1989 in a variety of areas including oncology, respiratory and acute medicine. During this time she has completed an MSc in clinical pharmacy and an MBA.
